Responsibilities
- Ensures inbound shipments of moderate importance levels are received and registered correctly
- Undertakes general warehouse duties facilitating the flow of goods
- Supports the site management to comply with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, completing documentation and records as required
- Leads initial orientation and discusses overall training schedule
- Conducts and facilitates on-the-job training programs for Ferguson DC associates, both new hires and existing
- Trains new and current associates on safety requirements within the warehouse
- Completes one-on-one training of job specific warehouse operations and WMS processes with new and existing associates
- Audits the work of all associates for adherence to training standards and SOPs
- Mets regularly with Operations Manager and department leaders to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement
- Ensures proper tracking of training status for each associate
- Audits training processes for each department to ensure consistency to SOPs
- Is responsible for Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training in the warehouse including initial certification, recertification and accident retrainings
- Provides recurrent training for all certification and required safety training programs
- Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced associates
- Adheres to Company compliance and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and requirements
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments
- Ability to strictly follow safety protocols and guidelines
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Physical capability to carry out warehouse tasks, including lifting and transporting heavy objects
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping
