DC Route Driver
Compensation pay range: $30.25 - $36.75 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums paid per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, with multiple premiums applying if criteria are met. Potential first-year earnings of $83,615.69 based upon average route hours; actual annual earnings may vary.
About the role
Operate a Class 8 tractor-trailer providing safe, timely, and accurate route deliveries to store locations as part of our company fleet. This is a home-daily, 5-day work week position with no weekends. The role includes overnight route delivery with dedicated routes, low-touch freight using full pallet deliveries, and a modern fleet of tractors and trailers. Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial Class 8 tractor-trailer to complete safe, timely, and accurate route deliveries in compliance with DOT and company regulations.
- Utilize electric pallet jacks and lift gates to load, unload, and deliver merchandise to designated store locations.
- Follow assigned routes, stops, and schedules to ensure efficient deliveries within set timeframes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain Hours of Service (HOS) logs, and comply with FMCSA regulations.
- Secure all loads, vehicle doors, and alarms before and after each stop; ensure proper delivery verification and manage returned merchandise.
- Assist with various delivery routes as needed to support operational requirements.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, logbook, and vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a clean MVR and a valid DOT physical status.
- Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests.
- Possess a current Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- Maintain the ability to work flexible hours.
