DC Equipment Operator
About the role
A Brief Overview The Distribution Center Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and accurately removing and/or storing inventory using heavy equipment machinery. Equipment Operators will operate cross-functionally throughout the distribution center to ensure efficient running of the distribution center in order to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Put-away palletized units by raising forks for placement into high racks
- Pick palletized units and stage for inbound and outbound shipments
- Inventory materials and record weight of product via an RF system
- Load or unload material onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device
- Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
- Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operation
- Transport resolutions to designated area
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Embody and demonstrate company ethics and values
- Abside by all federal, state and local laws
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2-3 years driving experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment required
- Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAP and WMS
- Knowledge of operating and controlling forklift equipment
- Skilled at operation and control of forklift equipment
- Able to communicate effectively in written and oral forms
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to perform job in an efficient manner
- Manual dexterity required: Must be able to have manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to see, hear, speak and read in order to communicate with other employees and/or other customers
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, frequent lifting
- Must be able to count
- Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
