About the role
The Group Teacher manages a daycare classroom by planning lessons, assessing individual abilities, coordinating special events and training staff to follow through with necessary responsibilities. He/she works directly with children in the classroom and communicates with their parents, maintains staff records and assists the Director with maintaining compliance with regulations through the Office of Children and Family Services.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements age-appropriate lesson plans
- Absesses individual child abilities and develops appropriate learning activities
- Coordinates special events and activities for the classroom
- Trains staff on classroom management and other responsibilities
- Works directly with children in the classroom and communicates with their parents
- Maintains staff records and assists the Director with regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Leadership, supervisory and training abilities
- A college degree or credentialed program in Early Childhood Education
- CDA or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education
