About the Role

Part Time School Food Service position in East Syracuse, NY. 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 7:45am–1:45pm. This is a 12-month position, 52 weeks per year, including breakfast and lunch at our preschool, serving up to 90 children.

Job Details

We are looking for a qualified candidate with 1–5 years experience in a commercial kitchen. Must be hard working and organized, with great time management skills. Applicant must be able to work both unsupervised and with a team, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Opportunity for free daycare for your preschool child ages 3–5 in our preschool program.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food in a timely manner to comply with CACFP meal guidelines and portion sizes
• Documentation for CACFP through Food Production Log
• Kitchen maintenance and cleaning
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies
• Develop shopping list/purchase order based on center menus/center par system and develop a system to gather items from local shopping center needed for meals within work schedule
• Following Food Safety Requirements (food prep and storage)

Requirements

• Food prep/kitchen experience required
• CACFP familiarity preferred
• Clean driving record & personal vehicle needed to transport groceries; mileage compensation provided
• Applicant must be willing to submit to a background check
