Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily shop operations, including workflow coordination and assignment of technicians to ensure efficient execution of scheduled work
- Supervising and supporting maintenance activities on general aviation aircraft, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, alterations, and repairs
- Performing and supervising annual inspections in accordance with applicable FAA regulations and approved technical data
- Reviewing, coordinating, and documenting Airworthiness Directive (AD) compliance in accordance with company procedures and applicable FAA requirements
- Ensuring work is performed in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, approved technical data, and company procedures, including the use of current revisions of maintenance manuals, IPCs, STCs, and other approved data
- Coinciding with the Chief Inspector and Director of Maintenance to ensure required inspections are completed and properly documented prior to return to service
- Assisting technicians with troubleshooting and task execution, particularly on complex discrepancies, while elevating regulatory, safety, or airworthiness concerns to the Director of Maintenance or Chief Inspector
- Maintaining shop standards, including cleanliness, organization, tool accountability, and adherence to FOD prevention practices
- Maintaining accurate and timely maintenance documentation, including technician task completion and proper use of QuantumMX (QMX); reviewing work orders for completeness prior to inspection review
- Coinciding with logistics and administrative personnel to support parts availability, scheduling, and workflow continuity
- Providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to technicians and apprentices to maintain productivity, accountability, workmanship quality, and procedural compliance
- Identifying workflow inefficiencies, tooling deficiencies, or process issues and communicating recommendations to the Director of Maintenance for evaluation and implementation
- Assisting management in maintaining a safe working environment and promoting compliance with company safety policies and standard operating procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move aircraft parts and equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a hangar environment, including standing, bending, climbing, and working from ladders or platforms
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and around aircraft noise and chemicals commonly associated with aircraft maintenance
