Day Shift Driver CDL

About the role

Granite City Electric Supply, the area's premier electrical distributor serving electrical contractors as well as residential, commercial, and industrial customers for over 100 years, is seeking a professional CDL-A/B Delivery Driver to join our delivery team in Methuen, MA. The role involves loading, driving, and unloading product to customer locations in a timely, efficient, and safe manner while maintaining vehicle condition and ensuring accurate paperwork. You will provide superior customer service, delivering product on-time, accurately, and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver material to customers in an efficient and safe manner.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Ensure truck is in safe operating condition, looks clean and professional, and adheres to DOT regulations.
• Effectively communicate with internal customers (sales associates and ops associates) to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide first-class delivery service to external customers.
• Provide feedback to supervisors to maintain efficiency in driving routes.
• Acquire and maintain current knowledge of GCE policies and procedures; participate in training and attend meetings as requested.
• Maintain professionalism and appearance at all times.
• Participate in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.
• Follow all SOPs for the position, maintain high order accuracy, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid, unexpired CDL-A/B driver’s license with a clean driving record/MVR.
• Valid, unexpired Medical DOT Card.
• Real ID required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of professional driving experience with CDL driving.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs on a repetitive and ongoing basis.
• Ability to push/pull up to 70 lbs repetitively.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, twist, stoop frequently, and climb in and out of the truck routinely.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Strong customer service skills; electrical or construction knowledge is a plus.
• Good math and reading skills; mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to understand maps/GPS and use routing software (experience preferred).
• Computer aptitude; Eclipse software experience preferred.
• Forklift operations and warehouse equipment experience preferred.
• Hoisting license is a plus.

Pay

Compensation for this position starts at an hourly rate of $27.00–$32.00.

Schedule

Approximate hours are 4:00 AM–12:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
