Day Porter

About the role

BRECOflex is looking for a reliable, hardworking Part-Time Day Porter to help keep our facility clean, safe, organized, and running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a team. In this hands-on role, you will support both our manufacturing and office areas by maintaining a clean and professional workplace for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain manufacturing, office, cafeteria, and restroom areas.
• Empty trash, recycling containers, and dumpsters throughout the facility.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and operate floor-cleaning equipment as needed.
• Assist with general housekeeping and facility organization projects.
• Move materials, supplies, office furniture, and equipment as needed.
• Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and other facility inventory.
• Perform basic light maintenance tasks, such as changing batteries and light bulbs.
• Assist with meeting, event, and company activity setup and breakdown.
• Perform filter changes on cafeteria appliances.
• Assist with snow and ice removal during the winter months.
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns.
• Learn to safely operate a forklift — company training provided!
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in janitorial, porter, facilities, housekeeping, or general labor is preferred, but not required.
• Someone who is dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates should be able to:

• Stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the workday.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Push, pull, and move carts, pallets, and cleaning equipment.
• Work in a manufacturing and office environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals.
