Day Hab Direct Support Professional
About the role
The Arc Jefferson St Lawrence is seeking individuals to join our Day Habilitation program. Our mission is to maintain a person-centered philosophy and promote independence, inclusion, and individualization for the people we support.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the total day program for the people we support, emphasizing independence, inclusion, and individualization.
- Ensure services are arranged and documented to promote growth towards increasing levels of independence.
- Document all services in accordance with agency guidelines and procedures.
- Support the agency's values and goals by working towards measurable signs of PRIDE.
- Support people we support in achieving their valued outcomes and life goals.
- Provide guidance and assist with community activities, including transportation.
- Document fire drills as required by regulation and departmental procedure.
- Communicate the needs of people we support to relevant supervisors and maintain accurate records.
- Attend and pass required in-services and demonstrate proficiency in areas such as medication administration and emergency response.
- Report any changes or issues in a person's medical status and document incidents as needed.
- Perform daily cleaning duties and assist with other tasks as assigned.
- Assist with transporting people we support safely and monitor safety during transport.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, properly equipped, and in good condition before and after each run.
Requirements
Must be able to drive an agency vehicle and maintain driving certification. Must be clear for transportation duties. Must be able to communicate effectively and work independently.
Qualifications
Experience in direct support roles is preferred but not required. Training in medication administration and CPR is required. Must be able to work flexible hours and travel within the assigned county.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and knowledge of disability rights and supports are essential.

Pay
Hourly wage range: $15.20 - $23.00
Schedule
Variety of shifts available, including daytime, evening, and overnight positions.
