Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Take part as a leader to youth in regard to their daily class rotation and field trips.
- Aid as directed with set-up, registration time, opening, closing and clean-up.
- Understand that the overall theme of the Day Camp will have a Christian emphasis.
- Read, sign, and abide by the Safe-From-Harm Policy.
- Attend the orientation prior to the start of Day Camp, debriefing and the final musical program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships
- Directly supervised by the Day Camp Director.
- In the absence of the Day Camp Director, supervised by the Assistant Day Camp Director or Youth Development Director.
Performance Measurements
- Evaluation based on achieving outcomes and completing assigned goals.
Education/Experience
- Completed the 9th grade.
- At least 15 years of age.
- Experience working with children preferred.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Understand and uphold that Day Camp overall will have a Christian emphasis.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
- Attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.
- A commitment to the mission of the Salvation Army.
Position Limitations
- Commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
- Inform the Day Camp Director of all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Required to do moderate physical work.
- Moderate physical work includes lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to remain stationary for some periods of time.
- Use hands and fingers.
- Communicate.
- Move.
- Reach with and use arms and hands, as required in using standard office equipment and PC.
- Low to high noise level.
- Specific vision abilities required include vision, distance vision, and ability to focus.
