About the role

We’re always looking for talented and passionate cooks to join our back-of-house family and accurately prepare the many dishes guests have come to know and love.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Prepare menu items according to Flanigan’s company recipe manual and plate presentation
• Ensure rotation of all products and stock products to par level to keep the kitchen running smoothly
• Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary
• Transport items to and from the kitchen and assist vendors with unloading delivery trucks
• Clean and maintain the kitchen area throughout the shift
• Break down and clean all stations at closing
• Communicate ticket times, execute food flow from kitchen to guests, and report potential issues to the Manager on duty
• Safely use kitchen machinery (open flame grill, stove, slicer, etc.)
• Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans, sharp knives, and utensils
• Lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift and place heavy loads on high shelves, in coolers, or freezers
• Hold items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods of time
• Work in a high-temperature, damp environment indoors and minimally outdoors
• Assist fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning as needed
• Complete and pass a food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes

Requirements

• Able to work a flexible shift schedule which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Able to read recipes and food labels
• Able to read POS ticket orders
