DataStage Developer
About The Role
As a DataStage Developer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering high-quality data integration solutions that ensure reliable, accurate, and efficient data flow across enterprise systems. You will be a valued member of the data engineering team and work collaboratively with business analysts, data architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to support critical business insights and operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL solutions using IBM DataStage to support enterprise data integration needs
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects in Oracle and/or SQL Server
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to enable batch processing and automation
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across ETL jobs, workflows, and production environments to ensure data reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data workflows
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage (Parallel Jobs, Server Jobs, Designer, Director)
- Proficiency in SQL development with Oracle and/or SQL Server
- Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.)
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL methodologies, and performance optimization techniques
Qualifications
- Experience with batch scheduling and automation tools (e.g., Autosys, Control-M)
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills for ETL processes and SQL queries
- Familiarity with data cleansing, transformation, and data quality practices
- Experience participating in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Dallas, TX. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements.
