Manage the complete life cycle of highly complex data-center projects—planning, execution, and closeout—to ensure planned results are achieved on time. Develop budgets, timelines, and track critical milestones. Coordinate with outside vendors and internal teams to establish and meet goals, while ensuring economical use of business resources and supporting financial requirements of Data Center operations. Maintain data-center integrity and availability through drafting and updating operating procedures, testing, and compliance audits. Reports to the Senior Vice President.
Responsibilities
- Lead Data Center design projects (mechanical, electrical).
- Provide management status of all active Data Center projects and Key Performance Indicators.
- Direct internal resources and vendors in the execution of Data Center deployments and builds.
- Oversee Data Center annual certifications and compliance as assigned.
- Draft and optimize Standard Operating Procedures for Data Center operations.
- Ensure facility service delivery to Colocation customers.
- Maintain accountability for infrastructure systems uptime.
- Evaluate and recommend Data Center equipment and processes to increase reliability.
Requirements
- PMP certification preferred.
- Experience with large-scale data center projects.
- Hands-on experience operating large data center mechanical and electrical systems.
- Broad experience in IT and technical project delivery, including hardware, data center purchasing, and networks.
- Experience in facility compliance audits.
- Five years of project management experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, control ladder drawings, and flow charts.
Skills
- Create project budgets and resource plans.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with employees and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Some travel required.
