About the Role

The client is migrating from Azure Synapse Analytics to Databricks and needs a strong technical leader who can drive delivery, coordinate multiple teams, and serve as the Product Owner for the program. The role requires a blend of technical depth, Agile leadership, stakeholder management, and enterprise-scale program execution.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have experience leading enterprise-scale data platform modernization efforts with a strong emphasis on Databricks and Azure technologies. This is not a hands-on engineering role; the client wants someone who can own delivery, coordinate teams and vendors, manage stakeholders, and drive successful migration outcomes.

Required Experience

• Technical Manager, Product Owner, Technical PM, Program Manager, Data Platform Manager, or similar leadership experience
• Proven experience leading enterprise Databricks implementations or migration programs
• Strong Azure Data Platform background
• Experience with:
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Databricks
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure data services and cloud architecture
• Product backlog ownership and Agile delivery experience
• Experience managing multiple cross-functional teams and workstreams
• Strong stakeholder communication and executive presence
• Experience coordinating third-party vendors and consulting partners
• Ability to drive planning, prioritization, execution, risk management, and governance activities

Highly Preferred

• Direct Azure Synapse to Databricks migration experience
• Experience working alongside Microsoft or Microsoft consulting teams
• Power BI modernization and report migration experience
• Enterprise analytics modernization programs
• CSPO, SAFe Product Owner, PMP, Scrum certifications, or similar Agile credentials
