Databricks Administrator

About the role

This full-time position is based in a hybrid setting, with a requirement to work onsite in Tampa, FL for 3 days or in New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, or Washington D.C. for 4 days. The role involves managing the governance, security, and optimization of a cloud-based analytics platform. The ideal candidate will have experience in administering cloud environments, ensuring compliance, and supporting integration with various data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Administer Azure Databricks workspaces across Development, Test, and Production environments.
• Define and enforce platform governance standards, cluster policies, naming standards, and environment controls.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks administration, security, cluster management, and governance.
• Experience with Azure services including Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Networking, and Cost Management.
• Monitor scheduled jobs, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to data engineers when needed.
• Control costs by monitoring usage and optimizing cluster scaling.
• Potentially prepare the Databricks “Genie” workspace for AI integration and manage access for external AI tools.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience supporting cloud and enterprise data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of platform administration, security, and governance.
• Experience with cloud services including identity management, monitoring, and cost management.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with data governance, metadata management, and modern analytics platforms.

Pay

Compensation Pay Range: $150,000-$200,000 Per Year

Schedule

Full-time, hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week in Tampa, FL or 4 days onsite per week in New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or Washington, D.C.
