We are seeking a Database Operations Specialist to join our team at TekSynap, a fast-growing high-tech company focused on delivering comprehensive information management solutions for Federal Government customers.

About the role

Provides specialized technical expertise in the administration and support of database management technologies. Analyzes user requirements and recommends appropriate DBMS products and solutions. Develops and maintains database organization standards, indexing frameworks, and access security measures. Implements and oversees backup, recovery, and data protection strategies to ensure the reliability, integrity, and recoverability of database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support database management technologies.
  • Analyze user requirements and recommend DBMS products and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain database organization standards, indexing frameworks, and access security measures.
  • Implement and oversee backup, recovery, and data protection strategies.
  • Serve as a technical expert in the deployment, support, and utilization of database management systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend database products and solutions aligned with business and user needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in database systems analysis, development, and programming.
  • Proficient in current database technologies and database-driven application design across multiple DBMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of database system internals, architecture, and operational processes.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret – IT-II (Tier 3) clearance.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in the Mechanicsburg, PA metropolitan area. Must be available to periodically support in-person meetings in the Mechanicsburg area.

  • Schedule: Day shift, Monday – Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Travel: Up to 10%.
  • Noise level: Medium.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to use hands to grip, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Target salary range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00. The range is an estimate and may vary based on education, experience, skills, competencies, contract parameters, and organizational requirements.
