Database Infrastructure Engineer - JCC2-ESC

Job Responsibilities

Provides subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. Responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements.

• Provide system administration in core data-related AWS services and relational and non-relational databases.
• Maintain multiple databases across unclassified and classified environments.
• Data exchanges through cross domain solution pipelines such as AWS diode and software artifacts.
• Automate and ingest and transform data, orchestrate data pipelines while applying programming concepts.
• Design data models, manage data life cycles, and ensure data quality.
• Deploy and manage database solutions on AWS, including EC2 instances and S3 storage.
• Implement best practices for security, scalability, and disaster recovery in a cloud environment.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and integrity checks.
• Monitor database performance and identify areas for optimization.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years combined experience in each of the following for relational and cloud-based databases:
• Database development and software engineering/development
• Database Design and Data Modeling
• Requirements analysis/generation
• Developing systems and software architectures

• Seven (7) years of experience with PostgreSQL
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining automated installation scripts.
• Demonstrated experience developing database solutions in a multi-tiered environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in AWS tools such as: Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, Lambda etc.
