Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize database performance via monitoring and tuning for efficient resource utilization
- Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure scalability of database systems
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, identifying performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies
- Collaborate with developers and system administrators to support application requirements effectively
- Implement automation for repetitive tasks and enhance performance monitoring processes
- Develop and document best practices for database architecture and troubleshooting procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Performance Engineer or similar role
- Expertise in PostgreSQL and proficiency in SQL required
- Basic knowledge of GraphDB, Kubernetes, and Linux is a plus
- Experience with AWS and GCP cloud hosting platforms, preferably with managed databases
- Familiarity with database architecture, replication, and optimization techniques
