Database Engineer - Multiple Levels (DT-0/1/2)

About the role

Legato, LLC recruiters (Staffing@legatocorp.com) would love to speak with you regarding the following position: Multiple Levels-Database Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis.
• Develop databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
• Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design.
• Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and makes trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.
• Works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle requirements through system acceptance testing.
• Develops requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and Information Technology (IT) subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems).
• Aids in recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.
• Translates a set of requirements and data into a usable document by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies.

Requirements

• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases to include but not limited to Oracle, Postgres, Mongo and Redis.
• Experience with SQL and the associated tools (SQL Developer, etc…).
• Desired experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience as a Database Engineer.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field.
• In lieu of a bachelor's degree, five (5) additional years of experience may be substituted.

The salary range provided is an estimate based on current market conditions and may be adjusted based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. The final salary offer will be determined after a thorough review of the candidate's background and alignment with the role.
