Database Administrator (DBA) Sybase & SQL Server

About the role

This is a 30-month contract position located in Albany, New York (12227) for the State of New York.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning measures for Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• Manage and implement database maintenance (reorganizations, statistics, optimization) in a server environment with Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• Apply upgrades and security patches to critical operational databases.
• Use ERWin to create and maintain data models.
• Work with Tableau or Cognos Analytics for data visualization and reporting.
• Perform data migration and conversion in relational databases.

Requirements

• 84 months (7 years) of experience installing and configuring Sybase and SQL Server.
• 84 months of experience monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning measures for Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months of experience managing and implementing database maintenance in a server environment with Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months of experience documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months of experience applying upgrades and security patches to critical operational databases.
• 84 months of experience using ERWin to create and maintain data models.
• 84 months of experience with Tableau or Cognos Analytics.
• 84 months of experience with data migration and conversion in relational databases.
