Database Administrator

About the role

Administer, monitor, and maintain CA IDMS databases following industry best practices. Provide database support for development, testing, staging, and production environments. Optimize database performance through monitoring, tuning, and performance analysis. Design and implement database security, backup, recovery, and operational procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to resolve database-related issues. Advise development teams on database design, schema modifications, and data modeling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 15+ years of experience administering CA IDMS databases in IBM z/OS mainframe environments
• 10+ years of experience with IDMS SQL implementation and relational database support
• 15+ years of experience implementing and managing IDMS security
• Experience with project planning, effort estimation, and technical leadership
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently
