About the role
M.C. Dean is seeking a Database Administrator 3 to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with experience supporting large complex resilient hardware and virtualized infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Work with other Database Admins to administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database.
- Support evaluation and recommendations for available database management system (DBMS) products.
- Support executing database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements.
- Support executing Oracle, SQL Server and SYBASE Database and Application server administration.
- Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
- Establish and maintain database user accounts.
- Run reports upon request.
- Support disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data.
- Support development of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s).
- Support data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementations.
- Support the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database.
- Cook up database architecture changes with database engineers.
- Support the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views.
- Support the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies.
Qualifications
- Clearance/Citizen Type: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology (IT) discipline from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of experience, or 8+ years of experience with Associate's Degree, or 4 years of experience in programs of similar size and complexity.
- Experience: Have DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher.
- Skills: Certification as a LENEL Certified Expert (LCE) with a concentration in databases, obtained within six (6) months of personnel starting on contract. Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills. Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives. Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
