Job Summary
About the role
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL methodologies, SSIS, and data warehousing, supporting efforts to deliver high-quality data extracts, reports, and dashboards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and monitor ETL processes ensuring accurate and efficient data movement and transformation.
- Retrieve data from multiple systems for data extracts, reports, and dashboards, ensuring data quality before release.
- Write and maintain SQL test scripts to validate data against source transactional systems and the data warehouse.
- Document ETL processes, test cases, and results to support testing repeatability and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with SQL Server DBAs, system architects, and developers to design and optimize stable, reliable databases.
- Plan and coordinate data migration activities between systems in line with project goals.
- Auxiliary in defining business and testing requirements in coordination with stakeholders.
- Conduct unit, system, and performance testing; support User Acceptance Testing and issue resolution.
- Adhere to software development standards, change control processes, and security protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communicate project status and progress regularly to sponsors and stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with project sponsors, technical staff, vendors, and end-users to drive collaborative success.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in ETL methodologies and development.
- At least 3 years' hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Proficient with SQL Server scripting and data modeling.
- Experience working with Azure SQL instances.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, concepts, and architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, Communications, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and programming concepts.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Effective multitasking skills with ability to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and visualization skills to tackle complex data challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively interact across all organizational levels.
- Capability to coordinate team efforts with other departments including research, assessment, and accountability units.
