About the role
A hands-on Data Warehouse Engineer position focused on research, analysis, design, and development of solutions to meet business requirements. You will collaborate with business users to gather requirements, prepare design documents, develop ETL logic, ensure data accuracy, design security controls, and deploy and monitor production solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop data models to efficiently store and retrieve information.
- Create and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, ensuring data consistency and quality.
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Design and implement relational and multidimensional database structures within the data warehouse.
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and other techniques.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across multiple environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data warehouse-related issues and errors.
- Develop reports and dashboards based on data warehouse data.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in the data warehousing/BI space, including both designing data models and building analytics.
- At least two end-to-end implementations executed.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Strong knowledge of SQL syntax, database design principles, and experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or other database systems.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in Infor Omni-Channel Campaign Management (Enterprise Marketing Suite), including creating jobs, ETL processes in Infor Admin, setting up jobs, report creation, and user/group management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), including node agents, manager, and applications.
- Expert-level knowledge of Azure Data Factory’s features, capabilities, and best practices.
- Mastery of Azure SQL stack architecture (SQL Server, SQL Warehouse, and Azure Data Factory).
- Understanding of data analysis principles and reporting techniques.
- Knowledge of Python, Pentaho, or shell scripting.
- Functional knowledge of common business processes such as quote-to-cash, clickstream analysis, revenue, booking, and billing.
Skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve data warehouse issues and analyze complex data sets.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
Pay
The annual salary range for this role in California is $101,500–$188,500. You may also be eligible for incentive compensation, including bonus, equity, and benefits.
