Responsibilities

Work with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors
Turn data into stories by visualizing complex data in an intuitive and user-friendly way
Gather requirements, prototype design, iterate based on client feedback, and develop final visual solutions
Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges including regulations, recommending processes, and product or service enhancements
Mentor junior Data Visualization consultants on Clarkston's analytics team
Assist in defining and managing client solutions

Requirements

3+ years of experience in a Power BI data visualization role
Ability to use complex expressions to calculate, group, filter, and format custom dashboards/reports
Knowledge of best practices for visual flow, interactivity, and drilldown between graphics
Background in design principles for UI
Expertise in designing and delivering enterprise Power BI analytics solutions - including dashboards, reports, and semantic models - aligned to business objectives and user needs
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience working with relational data sources using SQL or equivalent query languages
Ability to identify the needs of various audiences for consuming the visualizations and tailor design and UI approach to those groups (executive, analyst, information consumer)
Strong grasp of the steps to productionizing a solution, including testing, administration, and security
Demonstrated capability in the underlying data models driving visualization, including relational databases and joins
Provide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practices
4-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline

Travel Requirement

Travel is an integral part of this role and is estimated to average 30-50%. This may vary based upon client and project needs. When not traveling, consultants work from their home office.
