Data Visualization Engineer

About the role

On our team, you’ll use your leadership skills and data science expertise to create real-world impact. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll guide and mentor your team as you oversee the development of algorithms and systems. You’ll use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to advise your clients as they make informed decisions. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to use data science solutions to help your clients meet their toughest challenges. Ultimately, you’ll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in Foundry, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to communicate data insights to business stakeholders
• Collaborate with business analysts or users to clarify requirements, work closely with different business groups to comprehend and respond to their reporting and dashboard needs
• Build or maintain data pipelines with Code Repository in Foundry
• Oversee the development of algorithms and systems
• Identify new opportunities to use data science solutions to help clients meet their challenges

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with data analysis, including recognizing and investigating data quality and various data types, and discerning structure and relationships within data
• 5+ years of experience with data visualization, including creating charts with basic design principles
• 5+ years of experience with data pipeline engineering, such as executing data transformation stages
• 4+ years of experience with programming languages, including Python, R, or SQL, for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience working in Foundry, including building or maintaining data pipelines with Code Repository
• Knowledge of database-driven application development and design
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering

Qualifications

• Experience with analytics and data science techniques, including AI/ML
• Experience with DoD clients
• Experience with Army data systems
• Knowledge of front-end design and data visualization techniques and best practices
• Knowledge of Military terms
• Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and communicate with multiple functional groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work model expectations:
