About the role

Our Data Solutions Engineers assist in leading the design, development, implementation, documentation and support of data operations solutions. Provide technical management and consulting for business users and IT professionals on the design, development and utilization of data-related tools, technologies, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical management and consulting for business users and IT professionals on the design, development and utilization of data-related tools, technologies, and processes.
  • Research, implement, engineer, configure, monitor, manage, patch and troubleshoot software systems, applications, technologies and/or the technical infrastructure.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements during refinement.
  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Profile source data systems to map schemas, identify data types, and define source-to-target mapping logic.
  • Design and configure source connections and staging areas.
  • Orchestrate high-performance data extraction from relational databases, APIs, and flat files.
  • Execute fast bulk loading into target data warehouses.
  • Implement incremental loading logic using Change Data Capture (CDC) or Delta tracking.
  • Develop and optimize in-database transformations (ELT) using T-SQL stored procedures.
  • Automate software deployment processes and develop automation tools. Ensure the integrity of the builds and artifacts.
  • Develop tools and/or scripts to support and improve current software, systems, or technology builds and release process and continuous integration, and delivery initiatives.
  • Configure orchestration workflows and dependency trees.
  • Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies.
  • Create test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements.
  • Create, troubleshoot and maintain written procedures.
  • Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs.
  • Configure robust error handling, event logging, and email alerts for failed pipeline tasks.
  • Maintain data lineage metadata and data warehouse documentation.

Requirements

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study; or equivalent practical work experience (two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college).
  • Required Experience: 2/+ years’ design or development of software applications, databases, systems, technology infrastructure, or related experience.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skills should also span one or both of: Data Engineering & ETL/ELT: Designing data warehouses and pipelines using SQL. C# & .NET Application Development: Building backend applications and APIs using C# and .NET Core. And Database & Query Performance Tuning: Optimizing database schemas, indexing, and complex SQL queries for speed.
  • DevOps, CI/CD & Pipeline Automation: Setting up automated deployment workflows and orchestrating system dependencies.
  • Testing, Quality Assurance & Monitoring: Creating automated validation checks, unit tests, and performance monitoring.

Skills

  • Preferred Experience with Wherescape RED, SSIS, Snowflake, and/or DBT

Benefits

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $78,064 to $117,095 as Engineer I; $96,186 to $114,275 as Engineer II. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance).
