Data Security Architect

About the role

For an organization to transform in today’s digital world, it needs to properly collect, store, and organize its data. As a Data Security Architect, you’ll apply your creative thinking and analytical mindset to help organizations manage their data assets. You’ll use your extensive technical expertise to lead the design of data architecture solutions for cloud computing, managed services, and service-oriented architectures. You’ll resolve routine data architecture-related issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams, working with project staff to make decisions and recommendations on future data architecture development, and analyzing data architecture-related business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of data architecture solutions for cloud computing, managed services, and service-oriented architectures
• Resolve routine data architecture-related issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams
• Make decisions and recommendations on future data architecture development
• Analyze data architecture-related business needs
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and security control evaluations
• Architect and implement Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions including Varonis or BigID

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect
• Experience leading security architect, engineering, or enterprise data protection initiatives
• Experience with data security platforms including Virtru, PKWare, Thales, and encryption and key management technologies
• Knowledge of data-centric security architectures such as data classification, encryption, tokenization, key management, and data lifecycle protection
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

Qualifications

• Experience architecting Zero Trust and enterprise data protection strategies aligned with federal cybersecurity initiatives
• Experience integrating data security platforms with IAM, SIEM, SOAR, DLP, CASB, and cloud security solutions
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and providing technical leadership across multiple programs and stakeholders

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work model expectations:

• Remote: Generally virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities.
• Onsite: Primary work location at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
