Data Scientist - TikTok PGC Sports (San Jose)

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end data analysis across content and product for the relevant business, uncover supply/demand dynamics, user behaviors and the creator ecosystem, identify growth opportunities, and drive business impact.
• Design and build the core metrics framework and data systems to improve data-driven decision efficiency.
• Partner with Product/Operations/Algorithm/Engineering to improve recommendation and distribution efficiency, optimize user experience, and drive strategy execution.
• Design and analyze A/B tests, and causal inference; evaluate product features, strategies, and trends operations; perform core metric anomaly analysis and root-cause diagnosis.
• Validate hypotheses and identify product growth opportunities through analyses, experiments, or other scientific methods, and influence directions for improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or above in Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields; 3+ years of experience in data analysis/data science.
• Solid foundation in statistics and causal inference; proficient in A/B testing; strong quantitative analysis and impact evaluation skills.
• Practical experience in recommend systems/content distribution/growth strategies; experience in sports or content products is a plus.
• Strong structured thinking and business abstraction; able to quickly understand the sports business and connect business nuances with data.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (Annually) The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136,800 - $292,600 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
