About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic analytics team at American Airlines. In this role, you will be pivotal in transforming raw data into actionable insights that inform strategic decisions across sales, revenue management, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and commercial operations, to develop sophisticated models, automate data processes, and support business growth initiatives. Qualifications
- Master's degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of practical experience in data analysis, modeling, or a related role
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java
- Experience with machine learning, AI techniques, and statistical analysis
- Hands-on experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis from large datasets
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Databricks is preferred
- Experience within the airline, transportation, or logistics industry is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead projects aimed at enhancing data models, analytics processes, and reporting capabilities to support sales and revenue optimization
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to implement data-driven solutions
- Utilize various databases and programming tools to process and analyze complex datasets
- Identify best practices for data governance, automation, and process improvements
- Validate and cleanse data to ensure accuracy and integrity in accordance with business rules and standards
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep American Airlines at the forefront of analytics innovation
- Translate technical analysis into strategic business recommendations and present findings to stakeholders
- Extract insights from large datasets using statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to solve complex business problems
