Data Scientist - Specialty Operations
Position Summary
CVS Health is seeking a Data Scientist to support Specialty Operations through advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI-driven solutions. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve operational challenges, and drive measurable business impact across specialty pharmacy and healthcare operations.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a related quantitative field
- Strong experience with predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and model development
- Experience working with SQL and large-scale structured datasets
- Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical findings and recommendations to non-technical business stakeholders
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, or operational insights that drive business decisions
- Knowledge of statistical techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, hypothesis testing, and forecasting
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, business-facing environment
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting healthcare, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare operations analytics
- Consulting experience or experience operating in highly collaborative, client-facing environments
- Experience developing or deploying AI agents, generative AI solutions, or intelligent automation workflows
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience using modern AI/ML frameworks and tools such as LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or orchestration frameworks
- Knowledge of operational analytics, workforce optimization, or process improvement methodologies
- Experience working with unstructured data and natural language processing techniques
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field required
- Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline preferred
Pay Range
The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $86,520.00 - $173,040.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
