Data Scientist Senior

About the role

This position leverages advanced knowledge of applied data science tools and methods to generate business and clinical value through discovery of new insights. Working under limited supervision, the Data Scientist Senior develops and reviews high-impact models for production implementation to improve member health outcomes, increase care delivery efficiency, and contain healthcare costs.

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced machine learning-based data mining methods to discover new patterns in claims and care delivery data for understanding organizational performance and served populations.
• Creates and oversees predictive models for clinical and financial outcomes and population behaviors.
• Builds simulation models to assess possible outcomes for strategic and tactical proposals, including sensitivity analysis of business levers prior to implementation.
• Produces and oversees quantitative analyses (data mining, predictive modeling, simulation modeling) to provide insights into clinical risk and financial performance drivers.
• Develops publication-ready, customer-oriented reports that contextualize data science analysis and recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Represents Enterprise Analytics leadership as a data science expert in engagements with mid- and senior-level leadership.
• Serves as a department-wide consultant on advanced data mining, predictive modeling methods, and application of scientific research principles to knowledge discovery.
• Provides mentorship and project leadership on data science tools and methods to Data Scientist and Data Scientist - Intermediate staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• 5 years of relevant experience (Required)
