About the role

Transform business challenges into data-driven solutions—your insights will fuel growth and competitive advantage. As a Data Scientist on the Home Lending (HL) Data & Analytics team, you'll undertake advanced analytics to derive actionable insights supporting our HL Sales strategy and optimization. You'll combine strong data manipulation, quantitative analysis, business acumen, and problem-solving to drive meaningful insights that enable the firm to create incremental value and an outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced analytics and data-driven solutions for a wide range of HL Sales business challenges.
  • Work with both internal and external data sources and tools to explore, assemble, organize, and analyze data.
  • Perform descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to communicate actionable insights and tell an effective story to business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to develop and enhance business intelligence and automated reporting to facilitate decision-making for business partners.
  • Build analytical frameworks to support strategic and complex business priorities.
  • Collaborate with team members and business/technical partners on the data foundation and the use of AI to automate and develop innovative solutions for the HL business.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in an analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research).
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis or data science.
  • Proficiency using SQL, Python, MS Excel, and visualization tools for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Critical thinking and proven ability to connect data analysis to business strategies and deliver results that drive measurable impact.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills to effectively summarize and deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, dive deep into data, and design innovative solutions.
  • A relentless curiosity to understand the "why" behind data patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) for large-scale data processing, plus Salesforce for lead management and sales.
  • GitHub for problem-solving and collaborative project experience.
  • Strong ability and experience using visualization tools, including new products with AI/Gen-AI data-talk and natural language capabilities.
  • Background in financial services, plus experience in the Mortgage Business.
