Data Scientist, Mid
We are the Data and AI team within Booz Allen’s CIO organization. We build and maintain actionable, automated Tableau dashboards, alerts, data models, data queries, and other data solutions for internal and client-facing business leaders. Partnering across the organization, we drive strategy, improve enterprise reporting, and accelerate adoption of modern data and AI technologies. Our solutions evolve continuously to meet emerging business priorities, with growing emphasis on AI-assisted development, Databricks-based data engineering, and scalable analytics platforms.
This highly visible role interacts with senior leaders and directly influences enterprise decision-making. You’ll build innovative, AI-enabled data solutions that leaders rely on daily for decisions related to contracts, staffing, risk mitigation, and more. You’ll develop partnerships with business leaders to understand, document, prioritize, and solve company-wide reporting requirements. Collaborating within a team of data scientists and data engineers, you’ll transform disparate data sources into meaningful insights using Databricks and other advanced analytics tools to refine pipelines, automate workflows, and enhance performance and reliability of enterprise data products. You’ll also own existing dashboards and reporting assets—updating, troubleshooting, and enhancing them as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities
- Own existing dashboards and data models; update, troubleshoot, and enhance them as needs change.
- Use Databricks and related tools to refine pipelines, automate workflows, and build notebooks that feed enterprise data products.
- Partner with leaders to document, prioritize, and deliver company-wide reporting needs.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to turn disparate sources into actionable insights.
Requirements
- Experience with reporting or BI tools, including building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with data modeling and building workflows in Databricks or Alteryx.
- Experience with Databricks, such as building notebooks to support dashboards.
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree.

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work models:
- Remote: Generally expected to have cameras on during virtual meetings. May occasionally require in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and role needs. May also require work from or visits to a customer facility.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required.
