About the role

The Markets team at Polymarket is responsible for listing and structuring markets, ensuring they generate real price discovery. This role focuses on the analytical side, providing insights through data science.

Responsibilities

• Model liquidity dynamics to understand what drives healthy order flow and inform market structure and rewards.
• Maintain recurring reports on market health metrics for the team.
• Audit new market listings using historical and comparable data.
• Analyze underperforming markets to diagnose root causes.
• Partner with the Markets team to prioritize and deliver actionable data-driven insights.
• Develop frameworks for evaluating market success and consistency across listings.
• Identify and address gaps in current data collection for market analysis.

Requirements

• Strong Python proficiency for data analysis and statistical modeling.
• Deep understanding of market structure, including order books, spreads, liquidity provision, and market design tradeoffs.
• Experience owning analyses from scoping to delivering actionable outputs.
• Track record of building complex models that capture real market dynamics.
• Comfort working in a non-data team environment, setting your own agenda and managing priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience at a prediction market platform, trading firm, or fund related to market structure or liquidity questions.
• Familiarity with automated market makers, CLOB mechanics, or decentralized exchange design.
• Experience building or evaluating liquidity incentive programs.
