About the role
As a Data Scientist, you will contribute to improving and maintaining the quality and cost-effectiveness of healthcare services provided by statutory health insurance institutions in Germany. Your work will involve creating data analyses and models for the development of remuneration systems in hospitals and supporting negotiations with service providers. You will also develop geographical analyses of hospital accessibility, prepare reports on healthcare topics using BI tools, and oversee the implementation of new legal regulations with analytical models.
Responsibilities
- Create data analyses and model calculations for the development of remuneration systems in hospitals and support negotiations with service providers.
- Develop analyses of the supply and expenditure structure in inpatient care and the ambulatory-inpatient interface.
- Conceive and implement bed-demand-oriented models of hospital care using empirical methods.
- Create geographical analyses of hospital accessibility.
- Create reports on healthcare topics using BI tools (SAS Viya, MS Power BI).
- Oversee the implementation of new legal regulations with analytical models.
- Preserve and develop our hospital data warehouse focusing on healthcare.
- Advising the relevant departments of the GKV-Spitzenverband on methodological and technical questions.
Requirements
- A successful completed university degree in Statistics, (Economics-)Mathematics, (Economics-)Informatics, Economics, or Social Sciences, along with advanced IT skills.
- Advanced proficiency in a common statistical software like SAS or advanced knowledge in R or Python.
- Knowledge of the German healthcare system, particularly in data procedures and remuneration systems of inpatient care.
- Experience with routine data and handling heterogeneous data sets, along with strong SQL skills, preferably in Teradata.
- A high level of social competence, negotiation skills, organizational abilities, and results-oriented behavior.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form (minimum level C1 according to GER).
