Data Scientist Lead

About the role

This is a remote role; however, the candidate must reside within a 100-mile radius of our Costa Mesa, CA office and be available to work on-site once a week on a regular basis, as well as 2–3 times per month for team meetings and collaboration days.

Responsibilities

• Help solve business problems presented to us by stakeholders using data.
• Pull, analyze, and interpret data relevant to a given scenario.
• Analyze data using Python, R, or other tools.
• Determine patterns or trends and their statistical significance to the problem.
• Create visualizations of data using Tableau.
• Present findings to stakeholders and confirm, refute, or acknowledge a hypothesis.
• Work creatively and communicate effectively with stakeholders who may not be as tech-savvy.
• Participate in Agile team practices, including daily standups, sprint planning, and meeting deployment deadlines.

Requirements

• A solid foundation in statistics and data analysis.
• The ability to describe a project involving data analysis, including tools used and outcomes achieved.
• Proficiency with SQL for data extraction.
• Proficiency in either Python or R for data curation and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and an adaptable mindset.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and team practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with an Agile team or understanding Agile concepts.
• Ability to pivot and adjust approaches when necessary.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is: $145,900.00 - $194,600.00.
