About the role
Data Scientist Interns play a crucial role in Baynovation's mission to deliver impactful analytics that enhance customer experiences. They collaborate with a diverse team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to build and deploy advanced machine learning models.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy machine learning models using analytical algorithms and deep learning approaches.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data-driven insights.
- Maintain, develop, and optimize existing data models.
- Create reports and perform ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making processes.
- Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.A./B.S. Degree or higher in a quantitative discipline: statistics, applied mathematics, operations research, computer science, management of information systems, engineering, economics or equivalent.
- Returning to the program after completing the internship.
- Good programming skills and knowledge of data science tools and libraries in Python or R.
- Able to write SQL queries to extract and analyze data.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, BI dashboards, and R visualization packages.
- Strong mathematical background including linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, optimization, etc., and understanding of their mathematical foundations.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
