About the Role

This individual contributor role focuses on designing and developing data pipelines and automation for data acquisition and ingestion from multiple sources and formats. The position involves developing detailed problem statements, analyzing data sets, transforming data into features for machine learning, training statistical models, deploying and maintaining models in production, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver data-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed problem statements outlining hypotheses and their impact on target clients/customers, including scope, objectives, and metrics.
  • Participate in designing and developing data pipelines and automation for acquiring and ingesting raw data from diverse sources and formats under senior guidance.
  • Transform, cleanse, and store data for downstream processes; write and optimize SQL queries; demonstrate database fundamentals.
  • Analyze and investigate data sets, summarize key characteristics, and use data visualization to discover patterns, spot anomalies, test hypotheses, or check assumptions.
  • Select, manipulate, and transform data into features for machine learning algorithms using techniques like dimensionality reduction, feature importance, and feature selection.
  • Train statistical models under senior guidance using algorithms and data mining techniques; test models to assess input datasets and prevent overfitting (e.g., cross-validation).
  • Deploy and maintain reliable, efficient models in production.
  • Verify model performance using validation techniques to assess and improve model fit.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver statistical-driven outcomes, present findings to technical and non-technical audiences, and drive informed decision-making.
  • Build effective relationships by proactively sharing resources, information, and expertise; seek and address performance feedback; mentor team members.
  • Pursue self-development, adapt to change, and support team priorities, deadlines, and improvement opportunities.
  • Complete work assignments autonomously, ensuring adherence to policies and leveraging data expertise to support projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, escalate issues or risks, and communicate progress.
