Brief Description
Knowesis is seeking a Data Scientist II to support the USSOCOM Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program. This role focuses on identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve the well-being of SOF warriors and their families.
Work Environment
On-site at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Clearance
Secret clearance required; no sponsorship.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with POTFF program staff to collect, enter, clean, and conduct advanced data manipulation and statistical analyses.
- Utilize the HPDMS (Smartabase) to accurately communicate research project results and data trends.
- Build and disseminate interactive databases, spreadsheets, dashboards, and reports for POTFF-related data.
- Prepare refined reports and presentations to support decision-making processes.
- Provide technical guidance, advisory support, and assistance on projects involving database implementation and refinement.
- Offer subject matter expertise in program evaluation, research methodology, and statistical analysis.
- Liaise and collaborate with other POTFF staff to accomplish tasks.
- Assist POTFF staff with survey design and analyze/report survey data.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in quantitative science, social science, or related field.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
- Sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills, and social sensitivity.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Advanced proficiency with statistical software applications like SAS, Python, and R.
- Three years of research experience in an academic, social services, government, healthcare, or laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Human Performance certification or relevant experience.
- Experience in Special Operations, athletics/sports, or other military settings.
