Data Scientist I, FTR
About the role
You will deliver insights and analytics while working collaboratively with a diverse team building and supporting sustainable tactical solutions to complex challenges facing MISO’s forward energy markets. You will work in collaboration with engineers, operators, analysts, and data scientists within Market Operations to develop user-interactive applications while providing capabilities for user-developed tools along with deep data analytics. Additionally, as our Data Scientist I FTR, you will also play a critical role in being a liaison with agile teams, and MISO’s data analytics functions to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Create data-driven solutions for complex business challenges, emphasizing regression, classification, and other methods for tabular/structured data.
- Identify patterns and trends in datasets to extract actionable insights.
- Create algorithms supporting cross-functional decision-making in collaboration with developer(s) for building data pipelines.
- Develop complex models for large-scale machine learning, aligning with best practices where existing.
- Employ analytical, statistical, and programming skills to process and interpret large data sets in the cloud and on-premises sources.
- Collaborate with Forward Market Solutions team to develop sustainable tools aiding market operations, including visualizations for dashboards and applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, IT, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, or Mathematics or related field.
- Specific experience with Python.
- Other proficiency in some of these areas are preferred: GIT, SQL, Tableau, Grafana, Power BI, Kubernetes, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Studio.

- Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
Skills

Benefits
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $73,000.00 – $98,000.00 USD annually. Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.
