Data Scientist - Experienced to Expert Level (Maryland)
Responsibilities
Data science at the National Security Agency (NSA) involves using mathematics, statistics, computer science, and domain-specific knowledge to analyze and interpret data. It includes AI Engineering, Data Engineering, ML Ops Engineering, and Human Perception and Cognition Engineering alongside traditional data science applications.
The role requires exploring data analysis and model fitting to uncover meaningful insights, utilizing machine-learned predictive models, constructing data sets to meet customer needs, identifying anomalies, and developing models to address mission requirements. Tasks also involve designing and developing analytics, performing quantitative and qualitative analyses, and communicating findings effectively.
Qualifications
- Passing the Data Science Examination (DSE)
- Relevant experience in programming and one or more of the following: machine learning, data mining, statistical analysis, statistical consulting, artificial intelligence development, computational science, software engineering, technical writing, data visualization, data engineering
- Experience in formal or informal leadership roles
- Education: Associate's degree plus 8+ years, Bachelor's degree plus 6+ years, Master's degree plus 4+ years, Doctoral degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Pay: Salary offers are based on education level and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive package, including training and development opportunities. Work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
