Data Scientist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to analyze complex datasets related to light pollution and pregnancy outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Training and supervising undergraduate researchers
• Designing experiments and analyzing results collaboratively
• Developing data models, algorithms, and visualizations
• Managing experimental data and ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Supporting faculty with reports, presentations, and training
• Contributing to grant-related protocol development and project management

Qualifications

• Master's or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or related fields
• Proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS) and programming languages (Python, SQL)
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Preference for neuroscience laboratory experience

Skills

• Knowledge of neurobiology, biological data types, and statistical methods
• Programming, data wrangling, and neuroimaging analysis skills
• Experience with machine learning, high-performance computing, and algorithm development
• Critical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and effective data interpretation
• Attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability, and strong visualization skills
