About the Opportunity
The Data Scientist will design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning and generative AI solutions to enhance claims automation, anomaly detection, and investigative workflows. This role is critical in creating scalable AI systems that improve fraud prevention and operational efficiency in healthcare claims, collaborating across teams to translate complex business challenges into effective ML and AI-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, train, finetune, and deploy Large Language Models and Generative AI components for claims-related workflows
- Build and operationalize machine learning pipelines using Python, PySpark, and cloud-native architectures
- Develop traditional machine learning models for classification, anomaly detection, and natural language processing on large healthcare datasets
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation systems, embedding models, and vector database integrations
- Automate data processing, feature engineering, and model training pipelines using big data tools and frameworks
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical teams to develop scalable AI solutions
- Monitor and optimize models in production, ensuring performance, compliance, and responsible AI practices
- Present AI/ML designs and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Develop AI-powered solutions with an emphasis on responsible AI use
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering or applied machine learning
- At least 3 years of experience with Python, PySpark, ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and distributed training
- Minimum 3 years working with big data systems (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- At least 2 years of experience with Large Language Models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and RAG pipelines
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Salary range from $60,200 to $107,400 annually based on full-time employment
