About the role

The Finance Risk & Analytics team at Payactiv is seeking a Data Scientist to join our dynamic and innovative team. This role is based out of our Milpitas office and involves bringing both technical and analytical depth to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Identify and solve high-impact business problems through data-driven insights and automated decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and other Finance teams to translate technical findings into clear, impactful insights.
• Work closely with data engineers to design, validate, and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in analytics, machine learning, and cloud computing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience in Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related role
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, curious, and detail-oriented mindset
• Strong business acumen and proven proficiency in SQL and Python
• Hands-on experience with business intelligence and visualization tools
• Experience designing, validating, and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines

Qualifications

• Proven proficiency in SQL and Python (pandas, NumPy, and ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, or TensorFlow)
• Comfortable writing performant queries, optimizing slow ones, and reasoning about schemas, joins, and query plans at production scale

Skills

• Familiarity with Snowflake and AWS SageMaker is a strong plus

Pay

Salary Range: $110K to $140K (Based on years of experience)
