Data Scientist

About the role

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. This full-time onsite position supports MANTECH’s Data and AI Practice, focusing on developing advanced Dashboard Analytics that showcase real-time capabilities for Navy and Marine Corps Aviation. You’ll work in a collaborative team environment, solving complex technical challenges related to data gathering and visual presentation in direct support of critical customer missions.

Responsibilities

• Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Visualize, interpret, and report data findings.
• Create dynamic data reports.
• Develop and implement techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into actionable information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
• Travel locally up to 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline and 3+ years of experience as a data scientist, or Associate’s degree and 7+ years of data scientist experience, or High School Diploma and 9+ years of Data Scientist experience (may substitute for a bachelor’s degree).
• 2+ years of experience supporting Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) organization and operations.
• Proficiency with QLIK and Tableau.
• U.S. Citizenship with active or current Top-Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to conduct briefings to Senior Military & Civil Service personnel.
• Prior experience in professional services or federal IT consulting environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power platforms.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and government stakeholders, including delivering technical presentations.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
