About the role

This position is responsible for data collection, exploration, and using large data sets to identify opportunities for improving business outcomes. You will design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models, perform custom analysis, and use modeling to drive business results with data-based insights. You will also test the effectiveness of different courses of action.

This position can sit in any of our US offices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders and clients to identify opportunities for leveraging organizational data to drive business solutions.
  • Prioritize, scope, and manage data science projects for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Mine and analyze data to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Apply principles of artificial intelligence, database systems, human/computer interaction, numerical analysis, and software engineering.
  • Identify patterns and look for opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize client opportunities and business outcomes.
  • Write computer programs and analyze large datasets to uncover answers to complex problems.
  • Develop testing frameworks and test model quality.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to identify and implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze modeling performance and data accuracy.
  • Establish best practices for data analysis and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A specialization in machine-learning, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, or data science is preferred.
  • Must be self-driven, curious, and creative.
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, data mining techniques, etc.
  • Experience with most or all of the following basic data science tools: Python, R, SQL, SAS, NLTK, Scikit-Learn, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and Jupyter.
  • Familiarity with basic data science concepts: probability, statistics, hypothesis testing, machine learning, natural language processing, predictive modeling, data visualization.
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Azure, etc.
  • Experience in a professional services or law firm is preferred.
  • Adept in agile methodologies and well-versed in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and constructing data science pipelines.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to communicate actionable insights using data, often for a non-technical audience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in applying data science techniques to business functions.

Physical Demands

This is primarily sedentary work, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The role involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing, and occasional travel, both domestic and international.

Work Environment

The firm's work location requirements may be modified at the firm's discretion. Opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement combining remote and in-office work. The specific arrangement will be determined at the time of hiring and may be modified at the firm's discretion.

Pay

The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $112,879 - $179,481 depending on the candidate's geographic location, experience, skills, educational background, and overall qualifications.
