Data Scientist - AI/ML (Senior Software Developer; Systems Softw with Security Clearance

About the role

Avid is seeking a Senior Software Developer/Data Scientist with expertise in AI/ML and defensive cyber operations. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in machine learning techniques and statistical model evaluation, with a strong background in R or Python, SQL, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning models using Python or R
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software solutions
• Perform data analysis and provide insights through the use of statistical models and machine learning techniques
• Ensure compliance with security standards and protocols
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools and systems

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field with 8 years of experience; or Master's degree in a relevant field with 4 years of experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with R or Python, SQL, and Linux
• Experience with AWS, Cisco (CCNA), STIGs/IAVA, and Big Data Platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on projects
