Data Science Analyst

About The Role

As a Data Science Analyst at Premise Health, you will play a pivotal role in building the analytical foundation that supports our population health initiatives. This is a highly visible, entrepreneurial position that involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, clinical, finance, and strategic vendors. Your primary focus will be on developing innovative ways for clinical and operational teams to monitor and report on the performance of our healthcare products. You will analyze large and complex healthcare datasets to uncover insights that can identify opportunities to lower costs and enhance the quality of care. Your findings will directly influence strategic decision-making, operational improvements, and member health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Business Intelligence or analytics role focused on data manipulation and stakeholder reporting
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets
• Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, for building dashboards and reports
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, cleaning, and manipulation
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face
• Understanding of statistical methods, predictive modeling, and AI/ML algorithms
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with healthcare data is preferred
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and development environments like VS Code
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure Databricks and frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph is a plus

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within healthcare datasets
• Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to ensure reproducibility and transparency of analyses
• Design, develop, and maintain reporting datasets supporting recurring reports and predictive models
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Develop presentation-ready visuals and narratives to communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, align on objectives, and manage expectations
• Translate complex data findings into actionable insights that drive operational and clinical improvements
• Support and contribute to predictive modeling and machine learning initiatives under senior guidance
