About the Role
Performs analytical tasks and initiatives on large volumes of data to support data-driven business decisions and development at Cat Financial, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc. Cat Financial provides financing solutions for machines, engines, Solar® gas turbines, genuine Cat parts, and services globally, with headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
- Direct data gathering, mining, and processing for large datasets; create appropriate data models.
- Explore, promote, and implement semantic data capabilities using Natural Language Processing, text analysis, and machine learning techniques.
- Define requirements and scope for data analyses; present business insights to management using data visualization technologies.
- Conduct research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy in data analyses.
Requirements
- Business Statistics: Knowledge of statistical tools and processes to describe business results and assist in decision-making.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ability to complete tasks with high precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques to determine root causes of problems and create alternative solutions.
- Machine Learning: Knowledge of principles, technologies, and algorithms; ability to develop and implement related systems.
- Programming Languages: Knowledge of basic programming concepts; ability to write and modify code (e.g., Python).
- Query and Database Access Tools: Knowledge of data management systems; ability to search, extract, and format data.
- Requirements Analysis: Ability to elicit, analyze, and record business and technical requirements for system development.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver production-ready machine learning and data science solutions that solve business problems.
- Strong Python development skills, including package management, testing, automation, and reusable code.
- Experience deploying and supporting machine learning models (e.g., Snowflake ML, AWS SageMaker).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake (data preparation, transformation, analytics).
- Commitment to code quality through peer reviews, testing, documentation, and best practices.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI and LLM solution patterns (e.g., Snowflake Cortex, Copilot Studio).
- Experience with GitHub for source control and CI/CD workflows.
- Independent problem-solving in a fast-paced environment; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with Dataiku, Streamlit, Azure DevOps, Agile methodologies, and cloud-based analytics platforms is a plus.
Schedule
Full-time, 5 days per week in the Nashville main office.
Pay
Pay range: $97,728.00 – $151,572.00. Compensation varies based on job level, market location, knowledge, skills, performance, and experience.
